PDP reacts to Ebonyi Gov sack, nominates replacements

 


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has forwarded the nomination of Iduma Enwo Igariwey as replacement for Governor David Umahi to the independent national electoral commission following his sack by the high court.

The party's national chairman Iyorchia Ayu at a media briefing in Abuja said Fred Udeogu has also been nominated as deputy governor.

This followed a Federal High court ruling that ordered Ebonyi state Governor Dave Umahi and his deputy, Eric Igwe, to vacate their sits as the sitting governor and deputy on grounds that the PDP won the election on March 2019 and not its candidate.

Having defected to the APC, the court ruled that Governor David Umahi And his Deputy Eric Igwe cannot transfer the mandate of the PDP to the APC.

Osun 2022: Adeleke emerges PDP candidate

  Senator Ademola Adeleke Senator Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the Osun PDP governorship primary election held at the Osogbo township stadium. The governorship election is scheduled to hold on July 16. The PDP primary, held at the 10,000 capacity Oshogbo stadium, was also contested by Dotun Babayemi. The primary election held amid allegation of bias and litigations which could have stalled the process. Senator Adeleke was also the PDP’s flagbearer in 2018 when he lost to incumbent Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress. POLIRENA however, observed that a parallel primary election by a faction of the party also held in the state capital.
